HISTORY
The idea of Einzelstueck was born in 2008 when Cape Town based, German-born friends Kathrin and Anita discovered their mutual love of auctions and the rare pieces to be found there. Three month down the line two garages were full of newly acquired pieces of furniture and accessories. Then began the long and painful process of finding good partners for woodwork, painting, upholstery and restoration.
With a great team of suppliers and partners they are now able to reliably
(re-)create their unusual and creative Einzelstuecke.
DESIGNER
Anita Suchland, a graduate of business administration, has always had an aesthetic eye and a love for antique and unusual furniture. Already as a student on a low budget she would furnish her home with old precious pieces found on auctions or vintage shops. Founding and working for Einzelstueck feels like coming home after a long journey through the fields of management development and property management.
Kathrin Hoyos is a trained Architect and Town Planner by profession and has worked very succesfully in several well known Architecture Offices in Europe. After moving to South Africa and trading her career in the building industy for motherhood, she is finally able to live and express her creativity within the process of revamping furniture and sourcing extraordinary pieces for Einzelstueck.
